Plot summary
The autopsy of John Kramer turns up a wax-coated microcassette hidden in his stomach, and the police recover Detective Allison Kerry's remains. Mark Hoffman cautions Daniel Rigg for forcing an unsecured door in an attempt to reach her. FBI agents Peter Strahm and Lindsey Perez join the case and conclude that Amanda Young must have had help with Kerry's death, meaning another apprentice is at work. In a mausoleum, Trevor and the lawyer Art Blank are chained to a device, Trevor's eyes and Art's mouth sewn shut. That night Rigg and Hoffman are both abducted, and Rigg is told that Eric Matthews is alive and that he has ninety minutes to save him. His first test leaves Brenda, a sex trafficker, bound in a trap designed to scalp her, and Rigg frees her despite being warned not to.
