Plot summary

Sundar, Gopal and Radha grow up as close friends. Sundar is drawn to Radha and wants no one else, and he says as much to Gopal. Radha leans toward Gopal, and Gopal loves her, but his loyalty to Sundar makes him hold back and let Sundar court her. Sundar comes to believe that Radha cares for him. He brings Gopal along to speak for him with Radha's parents, who turn him down because he has no income, and Radha tells him plainly that she cannot love him. Wounded by the refusal, Sundar signs up with the Indian Air Force, which sends him to Kashmir on a mission. As he leaves, he makes Gopal promise that no other man will come between Radha and him while he is away.
