Zena Marshall
Biography
Zena Marshall was a British actress who worked in film and television. Born in Nairobi in 1926, she grew up in Leicestershire and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During the Second World War she worked with the Entertainments National Service Association. Her first acting was on stage, and she moved into film with a small part in Caesar and Cleopatra (1945). Her exotic looks led to ethnic roles, including Asian women, and her best-known part was Miss Taro, a Chinese character in Dr. No (1962), the first James Bond film. She also appeared in the film Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965) as Countess Ponticelli and made many television appearances. The Terrornauts in 1967 was her last film. She died in 2009.
