Biography

Virginia Wetherell is an English actress who is known for appearing in Hammer horror films. Born in Farnham, she acted in films and television from the 1960s to the 1990s, with her peak period during the 1960s and early 1970s. She appeared in The Big Switch (1968) and Curse of the Crimson Altar (1968), and her other films include Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1971), A Clockwork Orange (1971) and Demons of the Mind (1972). She also appeared in the TV film Dracula (1974). Her television work included a regular role as Julie Serres in The Troubleshooters and Dyoni in the Doctor Who serial The Daleks. From 1971 to 2013 she ran a vintage clothing shop, Virginia, in Holland Park, and she later wrote a fashion blog for British Vogue and co-authored a book on 1920s fashion.
