Big break
Michelle won the role of Yvette Carte-Blanche in 'Allo 'Allo! because producer David Croft remembered her as the French maid robot in his earlier sitcom Come Back Mrs. Noah, and he offered her the part directly.
First role
While she was still attending stage school, Michelle was given small television roles, and the first of these was in Dixon of Dock Green.
A change of course
Michelle played Sally O'Brien in Harp Lager adverts in the early 1980s, and there was a small outcry when it emerged the actress behind the Irish character was English.
Behind the camera
In 2012, Michelle took on the role of executive producer for a film adapted from Ray Cooney's stage play Run for Your Wife.
