Trudy Marshall
Biography
Trudy Marshall was an American actress and model who started out in fashion work, posing as a magazine cigarette girl for the Harry Conover agency and serving as the face of Old Gold, Chesterfield and Lucky Strike. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she broke into Hollywood in 1942 with a contract at 20th Century-Fox, which eased her into small parts. She took the female lead opposite Laurel and Hardy in The Dancing Masters (1943), and in the war drama The Fighting Sullivans (1944) she was featured as Genevieve, the sister who survives after five enlisted brothers are lost at sea. Marshall went on to decorative ingenue roles and later parts as the other woman, then largely stepped away from acting in the 1960s. She made the occasional return, among them Once Is Not Enough (1975), and in the 1980s hosted a radio and television show of her own, interviewing stars at Hollywood events. She died in 2004.
