Tim Barlow

Tim Barlow was an English actor who came to acting after serving in the British Army for fifteen years and leaving it in 1969. Trevor Nunn and Laurence Olivier gave him advice as he pursued acting. He created and performed solo shows, one about why he chose the stage and another, My Army, about army life in the 1960s, which he toured for many years. Among his screen roles, he was Mr Morrow in The Tall Guy, a man without sight who could not tolerate his guide dog, opposite Jeff Goldblum. He played Tyssan in a Doctor Who adventure, Destiny of the Daleks, and appeared as Mr Treacher in Hot Fuzz. In 2007, he appeared in the HBO series Rome. On stage he worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and played the BFG at Wimbledon's Polka Theatre. In 2016, he took part in Him, a piece about memory, aging, and theater. Barlow died in 2023.
