Steve Howey

Steve Howey is an American actor who was born in San Antonio, Texas and found his way into performing through his father's acting workshop. He produced and starred in the independent film Class (1998), which his father wrote and directed, and it earned a place at the Denver International Film Festival. In 2001 he began his first regular series role, playing Van Montgomery on Reba until the show closed in 2007. He later joined Shameless as series regular Kevin Ball, a part he kept through the end of that Showtime run. His film credits include Supercross (2005), Bride Wars (2009), Stan Helsing (2009), Something Borrowed (2011), Game Over, Man! (2018) and Day Shift (2022). He has also guest-starred on television shows such as ER, The Drew Carey Show and Psych, and he portrayed Captain Nick Wagner on High Potential, an ABC series, from 2025 to 2026.
