Stephen Mendel

Stephen Mendel is an actor who started singing at eight and moved into a career on stage and screen. Educated in Montreal, Canada, he earned a drama degree from Bishop's University and was working in theater almost immediately, with film and television jobs coming soon after. A move to Los Angeles led to his casting as Detective Fred Carson in the CBS series Night Heat, which lasted five seasons and 96 episodes. He later made guest appearances on many television shows and appeared in feature films. He earned a fine arts master's degree in theater and spent several years teaching at California State University. He is a chameleon, able to seem like a different person from one part to the next, playing heroes or villains, scientists, doctors, lawyers or judges, and he alters his look with facial hair, hairpieces and glasses. Skilled with accents and dialects, he has done voice work for animation, video games, audio books and commercials.
