Biography
Sia is an Australian singer and songwriter who began her career in the mid-1990s as the vocalist of the acid jazz band Crisp, then released her debut album OnlySee after the group disbanded. She moved to London, sang for the English group Zero 7, and put out solo albums including Healing Is Difficult, Colour the Small One, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born. She went on to write songs for other artists, among them Titanium, Diamonds and Wild Ones, before returning to recording with 1000 Forms of Fear, whose single Chandelier earned four Grammy nominations, followed by This Is Acting and the Christmas album Everyday Is Christmas. Her film work includes narrating Dominion (2018), voicing a character in My Little Pony: The Movie, writing songs for Vox Lux, and writing, directing and scoring Music. She has received nine Grammy nominations along with ten ARIA Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.

A role that slipped away
Sia wrote "Titanium" with Alicia Keys in mind, but the track was sent to David Guetta instead. He used Sia's original demo vocals and put it out as a single in 2011.
Big break
Sia's song "Breathe Me" was featured in the closing scene of the HBO show Six Feet Under, and this exposure boosted her popularity in the United States.
First role
In the mid-1990s, Sia began her career as a singer in Crisp, a local acid jazz band. She worked with the group and sang vocals on their album Word and the Deal and EP Delirium.

Sia co-wrote "Alive" for This Is Acting with Adele; the song had originally been intended for Adele's third album, 25.
Behind the camera
Sia wrote a screenplay for the 2021 musical film Music, based on a story she had written in 2007. She directed the film as well and was the writer of its soundtrack.
