Roy Glenn
Biography
Roy Glenn was an American character actor who worked in radio, television and film across five decades. He began in radio in the 1940s, appearing often on programs including The Jack Benny Program and The Amos 'n' Andy Show, and later on such series as Suspense and Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. In the early years of television he was often cast in authority figures, among them parts on The Amos 'n' Andy Show between 1951 and 1953, and he continued to find screen work into 1970. Kelly the Second gave him his first film role in 1936, and Dark Manhattan followed a year later. His film credits also include Carmen Jones (1954) and A Raisin in the Sun (1961), whose cast featured Sidney Poitier, Ruby Dee and Claudia McNeil. In Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967) he played Prentice, the father of Poitier's character. Support Your Local Gunfighter (1971) was his final big screen appearance. He died in 1971.
