Philip Martin Brown
Biography
Philip Martin Brown is an English actor, born in Manchester in 1956. He is best known for playing Grantly Budgen, an English teacher, in the BBC One drama Waterloo Road from 2006 to 2013, a role that made him the show's longest serving cast member across 154 episodes. Before that, his most prominent drama role was Eddie Vincent in Casualty, appearing in 17 episodes between 2002 and 2003. On film, he played John Adams in The Bounty (1984) and appeared in Sharpe's Justice (1997) and briefly in Sleepy Hollow (1999). He also appeared in Coronation Street, first as D.I. Pinnock in 2005 and later as Steve McDonald's therapist in 2015. Other television work includes The Bill, Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, The Worst Witch in 2017, and Doctors in 2021.
