Peter White

Biography

Peter White was an American actor who trained at the Yale School of Drama and drew critical acclaim in 1968 as Alan McCarthy in the off-Broadway staging of The Boys in the Band. He later repeated the part with the original cast in William Friedkin's film adaptation, The Boys in the Band (1970). While touring with Myrna Loy in Barefoot in the Park, he was offered the role; Loy became his mentor and urged him to take the chance. From the 1970s he spent three decades playing Lincoln 'Linc' Tyler on All My Children, and in the 1980s he appeared on nighttime serials such as Dallas, Knots Landing and Falcon Crest. His other television credits included The West Wing, Ally McBeal, Hart to Hart, The Colbys and a recurring part as Dr. Thomas Reed on Sisters. He played John A. McCone in Thirteen Days and appeared in the 2010 documentary Making the Boys.
