Paul Langton
Biography
Paul Langton was an American actor best known for playing Leslie Harrington on the television serial Peyton Place. Born in Salt Lake City, he moved to San Francisco at age 12 and studied at the California School of Fine Arts. His early stage work included productions with the Mountain Play Association and the Pasadena Playhouse. In 1950 he toured as Biff in Death of a Salesman, and in 1956 he appeared on Broadway in Harbor Lights. He made his film debut in 1941 and signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, where he was often cast in war films. Later he took character and supporting parts, among them The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957). From 1942 to 1954 he did voice work on Lux Radio Theatre. He began television work in 1951 and had a regular role on The Brighter Day. After guest appearances on Perry Mason, he gained stardom as Leslie Harrington on Peyton Place from 1964 to 1968. He died in 1980.
