Paul Comi

Paul Comi was an American actor who worked for four decades in film and television, from the mid-1950s into the mid-1990s. Born in 1932 in Brookline, Massachusetts, and raised in nearby North Quincy, he won a scholarship to the University of Southern California's drama school. An apprenticeship at the La Jolla Playhouse in 1957 led to a small part in the play Career, and reviews of his comedy turn as a drunken GI brought him to 20th Century Fox, which cast him as Pvt. Abbott in The Young Lions (1958) opposite Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin. He stayed at Fox for In Love and War and A Private's Affair and was lent to Warner Bros. for The Dark at the Top of the Stairs (1960). Television brought him more than three hundred appearances, including recurring roles on Two Faces West, Ripcord, Rawhide, Capitol and General Hospital, and the Star Trek episode Balance of Terror.
