Mike Farrell
Biography
Mike Farrell is an American actor who began with guest spots on television series in the 1960s, including an uncredited part as a bellhop in The Graduate (1967). He grew up in Hollywood after his family moved there from South St. Paul, Minnesota, and he served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959 before turning to acting. In 1968 he originated the continuing role of Scott Banning on Days of Our Lives, and he went on to star in The Interns in 1970 and in The Questor Tapes (1974). His breakthrough arrived in 1975, when he took the newly written part of B.J. Hunnicutt on MASH, which he played for eight seasons while also writing five episodes and directing four. He later starred as Jim Hansen on Providence from 1999 to 2002, produced Patch Adams (1998), and did voice work for the Superman animated series as Jonathan Kent.
