Maynard Eziashi

Maynard Eziashi is a Nigerian-English actor who has worked in the international film industry since 1986. Born in London in 1965, he won the best actor Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1991 for his leading performance in Mister Johnson (1990), a film that also featured Pierce Brosnan. In Bopha! (1993), Morgan Freeman's directorial debut, he played Danny Glover's character's son, Zweli. He acted alongside Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995) and appeared in Twenty-One (1991) and A Good Man in Africa (1994) with Sean Connery. He was Edgar in When Brendan Met Trudy (2001). Later he reunited with Freeman and director Bruce Beresford on The Contract (2006). He reported playing Chief Detective Okoro in Streets of Calabar, and in 2013 he took the role of George in Paul Herzberg's play The Dead Wait at the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park.
