Manuel Ojeda

Manuel Ojeda was a Mexican actor born in La Paz, Baja California Sur. He trained at the Institute of Fine Arts and began his career on stage. His first film roles came in his mid-thirties, and two years later he started working in telenovelas for Televisa. In 1979 he made his first English-language film, Eagle's Wing (1979), with Martin Sheen. In 1983 he took the Jimmy role in P.D. Tu gato ha muerto, a Spanish-language adaptation of P.S. Your Cat Is Dead. The same year he starred as Sergio in Jaime Humberto Hermosillo's Las apariencias engañan. In Romancing the Stone (1984) he was Zolo, a murderous secret police commander. He was Emiliano Zapata in Senda de gloria in 1987, and in 1994 he was Porfirio Díaz in the telenovela El vuelo del águila. After 1994 he concentrated on television, appearing in more than 45 series, among them the telenovela Alborada from 2005 to 2006. He died in 2022.
