Lynn Baggett
Biography
Lynn Baggett was an American actress, born in Wichita Falls, Texas, as Ruth Baggett. Warner Bros. signed her to a three-year contract in 1942 after a studio scout discovered her, and she began with a minor part in Manpower (1941). Early on she was mostly uncredited, in films such as Murder on the Waterfront (1943), and she had a small bit in The Adventures of Mark Twain (1944). She played a waitress who argues over stolen tips in Mildred Pierce (1945). Warner Bros. gave her just one credited part, the short drama Star in the Night (1945). A screen test for The Stranger led Sam Spiegel to sign her to Universal Pictures, where her first major supporting role came in The Time of Their Lives (1946). She was best known for playing Mrs. Phillips in D.O.A. (1949), and she was also seen in The Flame and the Arrow and in The Mob (1951).
