Biography

Lucas Cruikshank is an American actor and YouTube creator best known for the character Fred Figglehorn, whom he invented and played in a series of videos that began in late 2006. He was raised in Columbus, Nebraska, and came up with Fred for a Halloween video posted to a channel he ran with two cousins. After the videos caught on, he started the Fred channel in April 2008, and it reached a million subscribers by April 2009, a first for YouTube, holding the site's most-subscribed spot for 318 days. Nickelodeon turned the character into a franchise: Fred: The Movie (2010), Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred (2011) and Fred 3: Camp Fred (2012), along with Fred: The Show. He also played the lead in the Nickelodeon series Marvin Marvin and made guest appearances on iCarly and Hannah Montana. In 2017 he said he was stepping back from acting.
