Louise Carver
Biography
Louise Carver was an American actress whose career moved through grand opera, the stage, nickelodeon shorts, and motion pictures. Born in Davenport, Iowa, she first appeared on stage as a teenager and made her grand opera debut at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago in 1892. She made her screen debut in 1908 with Macbeth. She gained national attention as a comic in Mack Sennett silent films, including The Hollywood Kid (1924). On Broadway she was Lew Fields's leading lady in Mrs. Henpecks, which ran for months in 1912 and 1913. Her final screen credits came in 1941, when she appeared in Love at First Fright and had uncredited parts in Some More of Samoa and Tight Shoes. She died in 1956.
