Lance LeGault

Biography

Lance LeGault was an American actor and musician from Chicago who broke in as a stuntman and dancer, doubling for Elvis Presley in Girls! Girls! Girls! and appearing in other Presley films. He released a self-titled pop album in 1969 and played Iago in both the stage and film versions of Catch My Soul. LeGault became known for playing stern military officers, most memorably Colonel Roderick Decker in The A-Team from 1983 to 1986, and he had a recurring role as a Marine colonel on Magnum, P.I., while also doing voice-over work for television trailers and commercials. His film parts included Colonel Glass in the comedy Stripes (1981) and the voice of Junior the Buffalo in Disney's Home on the Range (2004). His last role was in Prince Avalanche (2013), which is dedicated to him.

In 1969, LeGault released a self-titled pop record album on T-A, a subsidiary of Bell Records, and he was credited with writing all the songs on it.
Beyond film
Lance LeGault took the role of Iago in the UK stage production of Jack Good's Catch My Soul: Rock Othello in 1969, and he returned to that same part for the Metromedia film of Catch My Soul in 1974.
