Lance Kerwin
Biography
Lance Kerwin was an American actor who worked largely in television and film as a child and teenager in the 1970s. He grew up in Lake Elsinore, California, the son of an acting coach who brought scripts home for him to read. He took the lead in the series James at 15 and in the television films The Loneliest Runner and Salem's Lot (1979), and he was often cast as anguished young characters facing hard challenges, as in Children of Divorce and The Boy Who Drank Too Much. The critic John Holmstrom described him as perhaps the leading boy actor in America at the end of the 1970s. He later appeared in The Snow Queen, an episode of Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre. He died in 2023.
