Kurt Kreuger

Kurt Kreuger was a German actor who was raised in Switzerland. Born in Michendorf near Potsdam, he grew up in St. Moritz and studied at the London School of Economics before dropping out of Columbia University, where he had enrolled to study medicine, to pursue acting. His first major film credit came with Mademoiselle Fifi in 1944. He was mostly offered German officer parts in World War II films and complained about being typecast as a Nazi, though he played Rex Harrison's personal assistant in Unfaithfully Yours (1948). At 20th Century Fox he was the third most-requested male pinup, behind Tyrone Power and John Payne. He spent time in Europe starring in German films, then returned to the United States in 1955. He appeared in television series in the 1950s and 1960s, including Perry Mason and 77 Sunset Strip, and his last film was The St. Valentine's Day Massacre (1967).
