Kathy Lamkin
Biography
Kathy Lamkin was an American actress who stole scenes with brief parts. Born and raised in Texas, she took to performing through her school choir and studied acting at Texas Women's University before settling in Houston, where she worked in commercials and theater and ran the Unicorn School of Acting and later USA Theatre. Barbara Jenkins, who owned a traveling theater company, mentored her move into film, and casting director Jo Edna Boldin gave her early film roles. She moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and won her first television role on Malcolm in the Middle, followed by guest spots on Nip/Tuck and the Tea Lady in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). Later parts came in In the Valley of Elah, The Heartbreak Kid and No Country for Old Men (2007), where her character was the one person to stand up to Javier Bardem's killer and live. Lamkin died in 2022.
