John Zaremba

John Zaremba was an American actor who worked in supporting roles, particularly in science fiction films and on television. Born in Chicago in 1908, he worked as a journalist for newspapers in Grand Rapids and Chicago before moving to Hollywood to begin acting in 1949. His career included 139 film and television credits. Among his films were The Magnetic Monster (1953), Human Desire (1954), Chicago Syndicate (1955), Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956), 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957), Hit and Run (1957), and Frankenstein's Daughter (1958). On television he had regular roles as Dr. Harold Jansen on Ben Casey, Dr. Raymond Swain on The Time Tunnel, and a judge on Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law. He also had seven Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes and four of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and he played Admiral Hardesty on McHale's Navy. In the 1970s and early 1980s he served as the spokesman on television for Hills Brothers Coffee. He died in 1986.
