John Megna

John Megna was an American actor, director and teacher whose career began on the stage when he was a child. Born in Ozone Park, Queens, he made his stage debut at six in the Broadway musical Greenwillow and at seven appeared in All the Way Home, a production that helped lead to his best-known screen role, Dill Harris in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962). He worked steadily in television during the 1960s and 1970s, with parts in Naked City, Star Trek: The Original Series, and I Spy, among other programs. His film credits included Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964), The Godfather: Part II (1974), The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976), and Go Tell the Spartans (1978). After graduating from Cornell University with a performing arts major, he moved into directing plays and became founding director of the nonprofit theater group L.A. Arts. He later taught high school English, Spanish, and history, and died in 1995.
