John Alderman
Biography
John Alderman was an actor who worked mostly in low-budget exploitation pictures, from 1960s softcore films to 1970s drive-in movies and 1980s adult features. Born in Syracuse, New York, he began appearing in films and television in the late 1950s. His parts included Jimmy Devlin, a heroin addict, in The Hard Road (1970); Lattimer, a hoodlum, in This Is a Hijack (1973); an underling to Shelley Winters in Cleopatra Jones (1973); Cockroach, a drug dealer, in The Black Godfather (1974); Dr. Baxter, a school principal, in Delinquent School Girls (1975); and Dr. Frank Rogers in The Alpha Incident (1978). He also made four softcore movies for David F. Friedman and took occasional mainstream roles, among them Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) and The Stunt Man (1980). In the early 1980s he acted in hardcore films for Gary Graver as Frank Hallowell. Alderman directed Lisa's Folly (1970) and co-wrote C.B. Hustlers (1976). He died in 1987.
