Plot summary
The survivors of a Vietnam War patrol ambushed by the Vietcong include the platoon leader their men call the Lieutenant, who is disfigured in the firefight. Back in Los Angeles, he regroups the veterans of that guerrilla team, and they turn their training on the organized crime outfits that control illegal gambling and narcotics in their neighborhood. The Mafia sends an enforcer, Carmine Longo, to meet the local chief and work out who is behind the attacks. A corrupt Los Angeles police detective sergeant assists them. Suspicion falls on a gang of drug dealing criminals, who deny any part in it.
