Joan Staley

Joan Staley was an American actress and model who began as a child violinist, born in Minneapolis and raised in Los Angeles. She joined The Little Theater in Hollywood and moved into live television with Playhouse 90, Climax!, and Westinghouse Studio One. Her first television role came in a 1958 Perry Mason episode, and she went on to guest-star in many series, including The Untouchables, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Munsters, Batman, Wagon Train, and McHale's Navy. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer signed her to a contract, and she appeared in films such as Cape Fear (1962), A New Kind of Love (1963), Johnny Cool (1963), Roustabout (1964), The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966), and Gunpoint (1966). She was a regular on 77 Sunset Strip and Broadside, and in 1962 the Hollywood Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Union named her one of its Deb Stars. She later concentrated on television.
