Jerry Minor
Biography
Jerry Minor is an American actor, comedian, and writer who was born in Memphis and grew up in Flint, Michigan. He began in stand-up and sketch comedy in Detroit, then joined Second City's Detroit, Chicago, and Toronto companies, making him the sole performer in all three. Saturday Night Live brought him on as a writer and cast member for the 2000 to 2001 season, where his Rap Street sketch and Weekend Update appearances as Al Sharpton stood out. He later showed up on Mr. Show, Arrested Development, Crossballs, and Lucky Louie, drawing praise from TV Guide for the last of those, and in films including Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003) and Beer League (2006). He has done voice work on Brickleberry and Bob's Burgers and has played Mr. Morton on Abbott Elementary since 2022.

Beyond film
Minor takes the lead in For the Love of a Glove, a satirical musical. In it, Michael Jackson's glove is shown as a sentient being and as the real source of his many misfortunes.
Beyond film
In 2010, Minor drew online attention for his "Cyber Thug" appearances on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast. That podcast was briefly spun off into Cyber Thug Radio on the Earwolf network.
