Jennifer Gibney
Biography
Jennifer Gibney is an Irish actress who began in amateur dramatics and trained in drama in Dublin after working as a civil servant and at the Bank of Ireland. She took her first professional part in 1996, a minor role in Some Mother's Son, and later played Winnie the Mackerel in Agnes Browne (1999) and Linda in Prosperity. Her best known part is Cathy Brown, the daughter of Agnes Brown, which she started playing in the 1990s and has played in the BBC sitcom Mrs. Brown's Boys since 2011. She returned as Cathy in Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie (2014), All Round to Mrs. Brown between 2017 and 2020, and Tyler Perry's A Madea Homecoming (2022). In 2014 she was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Gibney spent seven years working in the Irish tax office as a civil servant before she moved to the Bank of Ireland. There she studied for a drama degree and joined the company's amateur dramatics group.
