Janet Waldo
Biography
An American radio and voice actress, Janet Waldo began in films with small and uncredited parts before her break came on Cecil B. DeMille's Lux Radio Theater. She spent eight years as the teenage title character of the CBS radio series Meet Corliss Archer, and she later had recurring television roles on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Red Skelton Show, and People Are Funny. In animation she became the voice of Judy Jetson throughout the various Hanna-Barbera versions of The Jetsons, and she also played Nancy in Shazzan, Penelope Pitstop, the Princess in the English version of Battle of the Planets, and Josie in the Josie and the Pussycats series. Her other cartoon work included Pearl Slaghoople on The Flintstones and Hogatha in The Smurfs. She voiced Mrs. Slaghoople again in the Flintstones television films of the 1990s, including The Flintstones: Hollyrock a Bye Baby (1993).
