Jacob Tierney

Jacob Tierney is a Canadian filmmaker, actor and producer who was born in Montreal and began performing as a child, at the age of six. One of his earliest roles was Eric on the horror series Are You Afraid of the Dark?. Writing and directing came later, first with the short film Dad in 2002 and then with his first feature, Twist (2003), which brought a Genie Award nomination for adapted screenplay. The Trotsky (2009) earned him a Genie Award and two Canadian Comedy Awards, and he followed it with Good Neighbours (2010) and Preggoland (2014). He has directed episodes of the sitcom Mr. D and a Gavin Crawford comedy special, and he staged Tom Stoppard's Travesties at the Segal Centre in Montreal in 2015, returning there for Noises Off. With Jared Keeso he co-created Letterkenny, which he also directs, writes and executive produces, and he won Canadian Screen Awards for comedy writing, direction and series.
