Hy Pyke

Hy Pyke was an American character actor, born in Los Angeles, who studied theater at UCLA in the 1960s and appeared in student films before building a career in low-budget and independent movies. He worked across horror, blaxploitation and musical comedy, known for an exaggerated physical style and a raspy voice. His credits included Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973), Dolemite (1975), Spawn of the Slithis (1978) and the John Milius film Dillinger (1973). He played Bebe Rebozo in the Richard Nixon satire White House Madness, and became best known as Taffey Lewis in Blade Runner (1982). Later roles came in Bad Manners (1984) and Vamp (1986), while his final film part was in Hack-O-Lantern (1988). He also acted in theater and musical revues and later appeared in television commercials. He died in 2006.
