Gillian Chung
Biography
A Hong Kong singer and actress, Gillian Chung Yun Tung was approached by Emperor Entertainment Group in 2001 to form the singing group Twins with Charlene Choi. Chung studied at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, and did part-time modeling while she was a student. Her first screen role came in U Man in 2002. She later earned critical acclaim for Beyond Our Ken (2004), playing Chan Wai Ching, a woman rejected by the title character, and bringing girlish appeal and unreadable resolve to the part while handling her sadness with believable vulnerability. Her martial arts sequences in films made her an up-and-coming action star. Beyond Our Ken had its world premiere at the Toyko International Film Festival and earned HK$3,886,355.
