Geraldine Wall

Geraldine Wall was an American actress whose career took in stage, film and television, mostly in character parts. Born in 1907 and raised in New York City, she was drawn to show business as a teenager and debuted on Broadway at 15 in The Love Nest, at the Comedy Theatre. Further stage work followed, including Little Accident (1928), Child of Manhattan (1932) and the musical Merrily We Roll Along (1934). She resumed acting in Hollywood at 30, taking uncredited parts before receiving on-screen credit in Winged Victory (1944) and Charlie Chan's Meeting At Midnight (1944). Across 47 films she played secretaries, working women, mothers and wives, and she was the original choice for Dolly Tate in Annie Get Your Gun (1950). She later worked in television, appearing in 17 series, among them six guest appearances on Perry Mason and three on The Dick Van Dyke Show, and acted until 1970.
