Plot summary
A postal inspector, Harry Gruber, is killed in Gary, Indiana, and his body is left in La Porte during a rainstorm. A nun, Sister Augustine, walks past; one of the killers helps her open her umbrella and tells her the man is drunk. She reports it to a policeman. Al Goddard, a postal inspector, is given the case and traces her to a convent in Fort Wayne, where she agrees to help and picks one of the men out of a mug book. Goddard places her in a convent in Gary so she might identify him.
