George Winslow

George Winslow was a child actor in 1950s Hollywood, a Los Angeles native with a raspy voice and deadpan delivery. He got his start on Art Linkletter's radio program People are Funny, where a funny answer about his name won laughs and led to about 20 more appearances. Cary Grant heard the show and introduced him to director Norman Taurog. That led to parts in two of Grant's 1952 films, Monkey Business and Room for One More; the first with Ginger Rogers and Marilyn Monroe. He played Monroe's young admirer, Henry Spofford III, in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), and traded barbs with Clifton Webb in Mister Scoutmaster (1953). He also had a small role in Artists and Models (1955). He did television work, appearing in episodes of Blondie, Dear Phoebe and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, and his last screen role came in Wild Heritage (1958). He retired from acting in the late 1950s and died in 2015.
