Gary Vinson was an American actor whose work was mostly in television from the 1950s through the 1980s. Born in El Segundo, California, he went to El Segundo High School and to El Camino Junior College, and he turned professional at 18. His television debut came as a page boy in Milton Berle's first NBC show, broadcast from the network's new Burbank studios, and early guest parts followed, including the defendant Marv Adams in an early Perry Mason episode. He won his first recurring role in 1960 as the copyboy Chris Higbee in 39 episodes of The Roaring 20s. From 1962 to 1966 he played Quartermaster George Christopher in 79 episodes of McHale's Navy and wrote one episode of that sitcom, and he later took the role of Sheriff Harold Sikes in Pistols 'n' Petticoats. Rockabilly Baby (1957) was his feature debut, and in 1959 Warner Bros. signed him to a term contract. He died in 1984.
