Emmanuel Kabongo

Emmanuel Kabongo is a Canadian actor and producer who began as an extra on Canadian television before moving into leading roles. Born in what was then Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to a father whose extra work introduced him to show business, he moved to Canada and later took his first feature part in The Animal Project. He played a gladiator in Pompeii and co-produced and starred in the web series Teenagers, which in 2016 brought him his first Canadian Screen Award nomination. Later screen credits include Antibirth and the post-apocalyptic Brown Girl Begins, and he had a lead role in the soccer drama 21 Thunder. He earned two more Canadian Screen Award nominations, for Death She Wrote and Chateau Laurier, and appeared in the sci-fi thriller Simulant. In 2024 he starred in and produced the independent drama Sway.
