Donna Martell

Donna Martell is an American former actress who worked in film and television during the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Los Angeles and educated at Los Angeles City College, she began her film career in 1947 with a role in the Republic Pictures western Apache Rose, which starred Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. She signed with Universal Studios and later with Columbia Pictures, which cast her in The Hills of Utah in 1951. As the 1950s went on she moved into television, playing Marie DiPaolo in The Bob Cummings Show and appearing in series such as Cheyenne, Bat Masterson, Shotgun Slade and The Range Rider. She played Colonel Briteis, an astronaut who outranks her male colleague, in the science fiction film Project Moon Base (1953). Her acting career ended in 1963, though she returned for the 1983 television movie Grace Kelly. She received a 2002 Golden Boot Award for her western work.
