Diana Hyland

Diana Hyland was an American actress who worked across stage, film and television, born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She made her acting debut in 1955 in an episode of Robert Montgomery Presents and spent the following decade in guest and supporting parts on series such as Naked City, The Fugitive, The Invaders and The Twilight Zone. In 1959 she played Heavenly Finley in the Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth, with Geraldine Page and Paul Newman. Her first feature was One Man's Way (1963), and she later appeared in The Chase (1966) with Marlon Brando and Jane Fonda, and in Smoky (1966). She was a regular on the soap opera Young Doctor Malone and played Susan Winter on Peyton Place from 1968 to 1969. She won a posthumous Emmy for The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976) and appeared in four episodes of Eight Is Enough before her death in 1977.
