Budd Buster

Biography

Budd Buster was an American actor whose career was centered on B westerns, though he first gained experience in vaudeville and used makeup skills from that stage work to portray many kinds of characters. Born near Colorado Springs, Colorado, he appeared in silent films as a leading man from 1909 to 1915. He went on to make 132 B westerns and, between 1933 and 1960, appeared in 304 films, with a break from 1949 to 1952. His roles included villains such as a rustler in Silent Valley (1935), a bank robber in Desert Justice (1936), and a Nazi saboteur in Cowboy Commandos (1943), as well as sidekicks in Feud of the Range (1939) and Covered Wagon Trails (1940). Later he had small parts in Bus Stop (1956) and It Came from Outer Space (1953), and he ended his screen work with a small role in Guns of the Timberland (1960).
