Bruce Kirby

Bruce Kirby was an American character actor who started in television in the 1950s with appearances on Goodyear Television Playhouse. Born in New York City, he went on to a long run of guest roles in series including I Dream of Jeannie, The Defenders, Bonanza, Ironside, Barney Miller, The Rockford Files, Kojak, Night Court, Matlock, Hill Street Blues, Murder, She Wrote, and The Sopranos. He appeared nine times on Columbo, most notably as Sergeant George Kramer in six episodes, and he was District Attorney Bruce Rogoff in thirteen episodes of L.A. Law between 1986 and 1991. His film work included Stand by Me (1986), How to Frame a Figg (1971), the comedy Another Nice Mess (1972), and Crash (2005), in which he played Pop Ryan. He acted on Broadway as well, in Diamond Orchid in 1965 and Death of a Salesman in 1984, and he died in 2021.
