Berna Roberts
Biography
Berna Roberts, a Mexican and American Indian actress originally from East Chicago, began acting on stage at twelve. She first worked professionally in The Good Times Are Killing Me, Lynda Barry's coming-of-age play, as Edna Arkins, in a story about a pre-adolescent girl during racial integration. She kept working in theater while also winning the Original Oratory Optimist Speech Contest, which encouraged her to continue acting. She later moved to New York, where she got a small part in her first film. A few months afterward, she was cast as the lead in a television pilot shot in Las Vegas. After that pilot was completed, she moved to Los Angeles and studied at an arts conservatory. She has worked in film and television.
