Biography

Amber Smith is a former model and American actress who began her career in fashion as a teenager. After signing with Irene Marie Models in Miami Beach, she spent four years working across Europe. Her career accelerated when she dyed her naturally blonde hair red and began to channel Rita Hayworth, leading to appearances in the 1993 and 1994 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and modeling for Esquire, Wonderbra, Wolford, Chanel, and Jean Paul Gaultier. She moved into film with Paul Mazursky's Faithful (1996), then appeared in The Funeral (1996) and The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996). In L.A. Confidential (1997) she portrayed Susan Lefferts, a character who looks like Rita Hayworth, and she later had roles in American Beauty and the HBO telefilm The Rat Pack. Her biggest screen part came as Angelica on the Cinemax series Sin City Diaries, which premiered in 2007.
