Plot summary
Maggie is a depressed housewife whose husband, Jack, is having an affair, and she has been contemplating suicide. On their twentieth wedding anniversary, Jack gives her a diamond necklace, and he also hires a hit man, Tony, to kill her. Tony shows up and waits for the signal to come from Connecticut, where Jack is, before he carries out the murder he was hired for. While he waits, he and Maggie begin to talk, and Tony may come to value her more than Jack does. Facing death at the hands of a hired killer rather than by her own hand, Maggie changes her mind.
