Adrienne King
Biography
Adrienne King has worked as an American actress, visual artist, and winemaker. Raised in Oyster Bay, New York, she began doing commercials at six months old and took a supporting part in the 1965 television film Inherit the Wind. After training with Bill Esper, she appeared in daytime dramas, Off-off-Broadway productions, and commercials, and worked as a dancer in Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Hair (1979). King became known for playing Alice Hardy in Friday the 13th (1980) and Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981), a role later seen as a template for the slasher final girl. She later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and spent three decades as an ADR looper on studio films and on seven seasons of Melrose Place. In 2008, the Phoenix Film Festival placed her in its horror hall of fame. She returned to acting in Psychic Experiment (2010) and The Butterfly Room (2012). She has also recorded audiobook narration.
