Walt Gorney
Biography
Walt Gorney was a character actor who worked mostly on stage and played Crazy Ralph in the Friday the 13th films. Born in Vienna in 1912, he moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Massachusetts. His film roles were usually minor, often bums or ordinary working men, and his lean build, gaunt face and croaky voice suited the town eccentric in Friday the 13th (1980) and Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981). On stage he was a member of the Provincetown Players in the early 1950s and played Juan in the premiere of If Five Years Pass and Allen in The Male Animal, with Broadway credits in Scratch and Trelawny of the Wells and Off-Broadway productions such as The Misanthrope and Measure for Measure, as well as Crystal and the Fox. He died in 2004.
